Pool Builder in Buford, GA
Looking for a trusted pool builder in Buford, GA? New Life Outdoors brings custom pool craftsmanship to Buford and the surrounding Gwinnett County area. Buford sits right on Lake Lanier with large lots in communities like Hamilton Mill and Sterling on the Lake — making it one of the strongest markets for custom pools and lakeside outdoor living. Whether you're starting fresh or upgrading what you have, our team handles every detail with the local know-how that makes the difference.
Buford's lake lifestyle and warm Gwinnett summers make a backyard pool a natural extension of the outdoor living homeowners already love. A good pool builder plan starts with the actual conditions at your property, not a one-size-fits-all package.
A pool builder should help you make the major decisions in the right order: layout, depth, circulation, equipment location, decking, drainage, and features. We start with the way your household will use the pool, then work through the site conditions and construction sequence before work begins.
Each Buford property has its own access, slope, drainage, and layout considerations. We use the site visit to understand those details before recommending a scope for pool builder.
New Life Outdoors provides pool builder throughout Buford, including Hamilton Mill, Lanier area, Sterling on the Lake, Ivy Creek, and Friendship — near Lake Lanier and Mall of Georgia. We serve zip codes 30518, 30519 across Buford.

Building a Pool in Buford: Lake Country Lots
Buford stretches from the historic downtown to the Lake Lanier shoreline and the large subdivisions around Hamilton Mill. Lots near the lake are often wooded and sloped toward the water, while Hamilton Mill and the newer neighborhoods off Buford Highway and Peachtree Industrial tend to be larger and more gently graded.
Sloped lots are very buildable, but they change the plan. A pool on a hillside may need a retaining wall, a raised beam on the low side, or a stepped deck. We survey the grade first so the design and the estimate reflect what the yard actually needs.
Permits in Buford: City, Gwinnett & Hall
Buford crosses the line between Gwinnett and Hall counties, and parts of it are inside city limits while others are unincorporated. Which office issues your permit depends on your address. We confirm the right jurisdiction, then handle the permit, inspections, and barrier requirements.
Homes on septic need the drain field located before any digging, and HOA neighborhoods usually require architectural approval. We prepare the drawings for both.
- Confirm City of Buford, Gwinnett, or Hall jurisdiction
- Locate septic tank and drain field
- Utility locates before excavation
- HOA architectural review package
- Barrier and gate inspection before final
Popular Pool Designs in Buford
Buford homeowners who love the lake often want the same feel at home: natural stone coping, waterfalls, and lighting for evenings outside. gunite pools handle sloped lots and custom shapes best; fiberglass is a strong option on flatter Hamilton Mill lots. Add a saltwater system for softer water and simpler upkeep.
What Affects the Cost of a Pool in Buford
We price every Buford project from a site visit, not a package. The factors that move the number most are:
- Pool type, size, and depth (gunite, fiberglass, or vinyl)
- Rock or unsuitable fill found during excavation
- Slope that calls for retaining walls or raised beams
- Equipment access into the backyard
- Spa, water features, lighting, heating, and automation
- Decking, coping, fencing, and landscape restoration
